How do I choose between the Sungrow SG-RS-L and SG-CX-P2 inverter families?
The SG-RS-L family (3 kW – 10 kW, 600 Vdc) is for residential rooftops and small commercial systems where single-phase grid connection is required. The SG-CX-P2 family (36 kW – 150 kW, 1000 Vdc) is for commercial and industrial projects requiring three-phase grid connection, multiple MPPTs and AFCI safety. Choose SG-RS-L for homes and SG-CX-P2 for offices, factories, warehouses and small ground-mount plants.
Which Sungrow inverter is best for a 200 kW commercial PV project?
For a 200 kW C&I project, the most common configurations are 2× SG110CX-P2 (220 kW total) or 2× SG125CX-P2 (250 kW total) or 1× SG150CX + 1× SG50CX-P2 (200 kW total). What is the difference between a string inverter and a hybrid inverter?
A string inverter (Sungrow SG series) converts DC from PV strings to AC for grid export only. A hybrid inverter (Sungrow MG series) adds battery management — it can charge and discharge a connected BESS, provide backup power during grid outages, and arbitrage between solar, battery and grid. Hybrid inverters are the right choice when energy storage is part of the system.
Do I need a 1000 Vdc or 1500 Vdc Sungrow inverter?
1000 Vdc inverters (SG-CX-P2 series) are standard for commercial rooftop and most C&I projects up to 1 MW. 1500 Vdc inverters (SG320HX-20) are for utility-scale plants where higher DC voltage reduces cable losses and BoS costs across long string runs. Use 1500 Vdc for plants larger than 1 MW with long string lengths.
What is the typical lead time for Sungrow inverters from Econo Solar?
