What's the difference between Mono PERC, TOPCon and HPBC cell technologies?
Mono PERC (Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell) is the legacy p-type cell — mature, lowest cost. TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) is n-type, dominant since 2023 — higher efficiency, better low-light, ~25 yr lifespan with lower degradation. HPBC (Hybrid Passivated Back Contact, LONGi proprietary) places all electrodes on the rear — eliminates front shading, pushes efficiency past 24%.
