1500V DC allows longer PV strings (typically 27-30 panels per string vs. 18-20 at 1000V), which reduces combiner boxes, DC cable runs, and labor. For utility-scale PV (>1 MW), 1500V architecture cuts BOS cost by ~15% and is now the standard.
